Far and Away

What can be learned about Ireland and the United States during the 1890's is that, in Ireland, if you weren't a wealthy Irishmen then you didn't matter. But in the US if you were a wealthy Irishmen you didn't matter. In the US you weren't important if you were Irish. During the Industrial Revolution, if you were an Irish immigrant then you most likely would be working in factories.



The movie portrays immigration by when Joseph and Shannon migrate to the United States. Then it portrays the Industrial Revolution by when they find jobs in the chicken factory.
